Dakal Kami Gagawan Para Kekayu – Gov

Governor Lilia G. Pineda assured the Kapampangans that their provincial government will continue to work for their basic needs and services particularly on the aspect of health, education, infrastructure, livelihood, among others.

This was the statement of the governor during the awarding of P1-million grant by the Department of Labor and Employment to some 216 beneficiaries of the Pangkaunlarang Kabuhayan Program of the Provincial Cooperatives and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCEDO).

“Hindi po nagpapabaya ang inyong gobernador at ang mga kasama ko sa provincial government; alam kong marami kayong pangangailangan kaya sinisikap naming maibigay sa inyo ito,” Pineda said.

She told the group of beneficiaries that the provincial government has been working on the upgrading of hospitals, providing them with new buildings, facilities, equipment and manpower.

The Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital (formerly Balitucan District Hospital) in Magalang town was upgraded to the tune of P35 million and was recently inaugurated. It features a birthing station to serve pregnant women in the area and neighboring barangays.

The governor also disclosed that this hospital had been in need of improvement for the past 42 years, and it was only recently that it got the upgrading that it deserved.

“The P30M came from the provincial government while the P5M for the birthing station came from the Department of Health (DOH).”

The governor also announced that the Arayat District Hospital is undergoing renovation and is now 70% complete. She added that the renovation costs P14M and is expected to be completed and ready for full operation in February.

The Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Provincial Hospital in Guagua is set to get P25M worth of new equipment such as CT scan, 2D echo and ultrasound machines, also in February.

The upgrading of the Porac District Hospital will also be started soon with the P25M budget from the funds of Senator Manuelito Lapid and P10M from the DOH.

The governor emphasized that “hindi sapat na maganda ang mga building ng ospital, dapat ay sapat ang gamot, makabago ang mga gamit at makina, at magagaling ang mga espesyalistang doktor at iba pang tauhan nito”.

Up for implementation is the improvement of schools in various towns to better serve the educational needs of children.

She also shared the news that 20 new dump trucks will be given to the 20 towns of the province to help in their solid waste management efforts, “dahil hindi lang kabuhayan, kundi kaligtasan, kalusugan at lahat ng kailangan ng bawat mamamayan ang aming tinututukan”. (Eloisa P. Galang, Pampanga PIO)
