CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Due to intensified police integrated patrol system (PIPS) and creation of motor cycle riding team, some 3,699 motorcycles were marked by the Oplan Clean Riders which lessened crimes involving motor cycle riding criminals.
Police Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, provincial director of PPO said the strict implementation of PIPS includes four times a day check point operations, beat and mobile patrols, and Oplan Sita.
“We conducted patrolya ng pulis at pulis sa mall wherein personnel assigned for Administrative jobs are detailed to conduct patrolling at malls, banks and other major establishment from 3:00PM to 6:00PM daily,” said Albayalde.
Albayalde added that they also implemented Oplan Clean riders and established PNP/AFP action centers through the help of the provincial government.
PSupt. Raquel Lingayo, chief of the Intelligence Branch of PPO reported the incidents involving MRCs decreases because of the strict implementation of the programs of PNP.
Based on data, a total of 130 MRC crimes were recorded in 2012; 68 incidents in 2013 and 11 incidents from January 01 to February 28 of this year.
“Some of the recorded incidents were occurred after bank withdrawals and occurred between 4:00 to 8:00 pm,” she said.
Lingayo also recommended the installation of CCTV cameras in the vicinity of banks, creation of data base of motorcycles to help monitor those stolen and enhance burglar alarm.
Gov. Lilia Pineda on the part of the provincial government vowed to help in the procurement of additional motorcycles to increase number of police motorcycle riding team for patrols.
