CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda’s firm standpoint against illegal drugs was highlighted in this year’s (Re-assessment on the Drug Campaign Programs of the Province) Zumba Dance Competition participated by the 21 municipalities around the province.
The event’s theme “Zumba Para King Kalusugan at Kapayapan” was conveyed by each participating team’s own drug campaign slogans as demonstrated in their performances as part of the 444th Aldo Ning Kapampangan celebration.
Sports activities as such, are being encouraged by the lady governor to keep a healthy body and a sound mind especially the youth, to keep them away from vices and illegal drugs.
The governor also wants all different sectors of the society to remain united in the fight against illegal drugs and participate in the anti-drug campaigns and related activities of the provincial government.
Governor Pineda once said in her speech, “ Papanatiliin natin ang pagmamahal, pagmamalasakit at pagkakaisa para sa probinsyang Kapampangan.” (“Let us continue our love and care for one another and keep united for the province of Pampanga.”)
This year’s grand prize was again bagged by Mabalacat City who took home P40,000; 2nd place went to the City of San Fernando (P30,000); then Macabebe (3rd place-P20,000) and Floridablanca (4th-place-P15,000).
Meanwhile, the non-winners took home P10,000 as consolation prize.
Aside from the prizes given by the provincial Capitol, all winning and non-winning teams got additional P10,000 cash from the governor.
The Zumba Dance Competition was also participated by the municipalities of Bacolor, Lubao, Guagua, Sta. Rita, Arayat, Sto. Tomas, Apalit, Magalang, , Sta. Ana, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin, Porac, Sasmuan, San Luis, San Simon and Candaba.
This year’s Zumba Dance competition’s judges consist of Mr. Ralph Chester Quiambao, Dr. Lailani Mangulabnan, Ms. Mary Anne Bernadette M. Samson and Ms. Racquel Kalalang.
The event was witnessed by Board Members Rosve Henson, Crisostomo Garbo, Cherry Manalo and Mayors Annette Balgan (Macabebe), Eduardo Guerrero (Floridablanca) who also participated in the group dance Jun Tetangco (Apalit), Department of Health Regional Director (3) Dr. Leonita Gorgolon, PNP Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr., representatives from PDEA and other public officials.
