CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Some 619 inmates from the Pampanga Provincial Jail benefitted from yesterday’s medical and dental mission organized by the provincial government as part of the incoming 444th Pampanga Day celebration or “Aldo Ning Kapampangan.”

The said mission was sponsored by the Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Marcelo Jaohico with the  cooperation and support from the chiefs of the 11 provincial and district hospitals run by the provincial government.

Provincial Warden Ret. Col. Edwin Mangiliman said, “this activity is yearly done because Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda wants to secure the health and well-being of the inmates.”

“Nais lamang masiguro ng ating gobernador si Governor Lilia Pineda lalong-lalo na ‘yung malusog na pangangatawan at inyong kalagayan dito sa loob ng pihitan”, Mangiliman said.

Meanwhile, PHO Head Dr. Marcelo Jaochico said the activity in the jail was attained through the efforts of the doctors, dentists and medical personnel of the 11 districts and provincial hospitals, together with his own staff and the Provincial Malward.

Most of the detainees’ medical complaints varied from cough, fever, colds, asthma, skin allergy, acid pains, back pains and diabetes while, four detainees were advised to a sputum test.

On the other hand, tooth extractions were performed on the inmates who were suffering from tooth decay and cavities.

Proper medications were prescribed and provided to the detainees during the said activity.
Dr. Jaochico also cited the governor for leading the entire province in a compassionate manner.

“Kami po ay pinamumunuan ng isang taong nagmamahal sa mga taong nangangailangan, lalong-lalo na ang mga mahihirap. Kami po ay nagpunta sa inyo upang kayo’y pagsilbihan at bigyan ng serbisyong medikal,” Jaochico said.
