Capitol’s Jobs Fair, A Big Success

CITY OF SAN FERNANDOGauging from the hundreds  of job seekers who trooped to the Pampanga provincial capitol to submit their applications for both local and foreign employment, the one-day jobs fair sponsored by the provincial government line with the  439th Pampanga Day Celebration was indeed, a big success.

Added to that, six applicants for the Voltas Limited company based in Doha, Qatar and four others more for Camox Philippines, Inc. for deployment in Dubai and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were hired on the spot by the employers and official representatives of the two companies themselves.

This piece of good news was relayed by Luningning Vergara, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) and Roberto Taclas, a representative of the Philippine Overseas and Employment Administration (POEA).

The two companies are among the 12 foreign-based companies who participated in the said jobs fair along with 32 other locally-based employers, Vergara said.

She added that the said jobs fair is one of the priority thrusts of Governor Lilia G. Pineda which aims to provide job opportunities, both local and abroad, to qualified and skilled individuals in the province.

Chaired by Provincial Board Member Tars Halili with Alex Inza-Cruz of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as co-chair, the jobs fair is one of the highlights of the on-going celebration of Pampanga’s 439th founding anniversary which has for its theme “Lugud at Masabal: Pusu ning Tune Kapampangan”.

According to Celdric Albao the employers from of Voltas Limited from Qatar personally interviewed and approved the applications of six applicants for building electrician, plumber, pipe fitter and duct man.

The successful applicants who hail from the towns of Candaba, Arayat, Mabalacat, Lubao and San Luis will undergo their medical examinations at the soonest possible time and will submit the necessary requirements and documents for their immediate deployment abroad.

Meanwhile, the four applicants who passed the screening of Camox Philippines, Inc. will soon be employed as cook, safety officer, pizza maker and sales engineer with ARAMCO, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

Vergara attributed the success of the jobs fair to the pre-screening of applicants ably conducted by the respective PESO managers in various municipalities of the province.

More so, the provincial government headed by Governor Pineda and her officials provided their full support and commitment to ensure the success of the activity, Taclas said.

He added that he “finds the jobs fair well-organized because the PESO managers in the province are very much supportive and committed to the programs of the Pineda administration”.

“The jobs fair is one effective way of bringing the services of the government directly to the constituents.”

The said activity also provided allied services of four partner-agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Social Security System (SSS) and the National Statistics Office (NSO).

“It was a complete one-stop shop,” Vergara ended.  (Pampanga PIO)
