CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has turned over the first batch of 100 service vehicles to the same number of barangays in the province on Monday.
The governor handed symbolic keys to barangay officials who received the vehicles at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
“These barangay service vehicles are intended to provide transportation services to our Cabalen, especially to those living in far-flung areas and in need of immediate medical assistance,” Governor Delta said.
He said, the project would not be possible without the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
“We upgraded your transport services to vans so that our Cabalens could travel in comfort. Please make the best use of them for the benefit of our constituents,” Governor Delta said. “Make the vehicles available 24/7 to our Cabalens,” he added.
He also asked barangay officials to include the maintenance of the service vehicles in their respective annual budgets.
Each vehicle costs P1,229,800. Capitol is purchasing a total of 505 service vehicles that will be distributed to all barangays in the province.
In addition, the provincial government provided P300,000 to each coastal barangay for the purchase of two service boats.
The second batch of 100 barangay service vehicles will be distributed next week.
