Capitol to shoulder cancer patients’ treatment

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Lilia “Nanay Pineda vowed to continuously shoulder all the medical expenses of each cancer patients including bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, and other treatments needed.

The governor also gave yesterday food and cash assistance to some 32 kids who are being treated from their cancer at Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital here.

The provision of assistance is part of the regular program of the Capitol to the less fortunate and the needy.

The kids, together with their parents and guardians, received P3, 500 cash assistance each and some groceries.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office head Elizabeth Baybayan said the kids are truly blessed to have such a government who cares for these kids.

“It is a happy day for them because all of their treatments will be shouldered by the Capitol. It is a relief for their everyday burden of facing their daily struggles battling cancer,” she added.
