Capitol Targets zero casualty for pregnant mothers

LUBAO,Pampanga- Gov.Lilia Pineda said the provincial government targets zero casualty for mothers during pregnancy and in giving birth this year.

Pineda who attended the free check -ups and consultation administered by the provincial health office (PHO) in the second district told pregnant mothers that she will help those who will undergo caesarian at the provincial and district hospitals at minimal cost to the family.

“The programs of the provincial government is not limited with free check-ups and consultation.We will also help in the expenses of those who will undergo caesarian,” Pineda declared.

Dr.Imelda Labrador, provincial health officer for public health stated that the assistance of the capitol for mothers starts from conception to postnatal.

She said the free consultation and check-ups are crucial for 6-9 months pregnant women in order to ensure the safety and protection of the mother and the child.

“Consultation to health professionals is very important in monitoring the condition of pregnant mom. Early detection of any complications or disease will lessen the possibility of deaths,”said Dr. Labrador

The maternal health care program of the provincial government consists of immunization, consultation to health professionals and giving away vitamins for health pregnancy.

Aside from these,Gov.Pineda distributed “Buntis Kit” to some one thousand pregnant mothers of the district who were also the recipients of the health care program.
