CITY OF SANFERNANDO—Some 572 provincial Capitol scholars who graduated this year were given recognition by the provincial government led by Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda and Vice-governor Dennis Pineda at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, over the week.
The governor believes these scholars are the assets of Pampanga and the future leaders of the province.
“Congratulations, graduates. Capitol has helped you finished school without asking anything in return. This is going to be a lasting legacy, since you will be the assets of Pampanga. What I would like you to do is help us locate the out-of-school youth, send their names to us, encourage your fellow youth. Let’s help them and send them back to school”, the governor said.
Board members Rosve Henson, Ricardo Yabut, Nestor Tolentino, Arthur Salalila, Anthony Joseph Torres, Salvador Dimson Jr., ABC president ex-officio Atty. Gerome Tubig, Cherry Manalo, President of Councilors’ League Mike Tapang expressed their appreciation and felicitations to the graduates with their inspiring messages.
Meanwhile, guest speaker Atty. Arthur Tugade president of Clark Development Corporation imparted to the graduates about the importance of taking advantage of the opportunities that government institutions offer to the underprivileged.
“Kung ako ma’y umangat sa aking kabuhayan, isa ho’ng dahilan kung bakit ako nakaangat ay ang edukasyon na ibinigay sa akin ng mga taong nagmamalasakit, mga institusyong gustong gabayan ang kabataan upang umunlad at mamayagpag ang kanilang kinabukasan”, Tugade said.
The scholars who graduated with honors were also acknowledged and recognized by the governor.
As a gift to the graduates the provincial government provided a cash incentive worth P1,000 each.
