LUBAO, Pampanga – Governor Lilia Pineda announced yesterday the provision of pedicabs–or three-wheeled bikes for the 2,700 barangay health workers (BHWs) in the province.
This is the realization of the promise of the governor to give them service patrol in the delivery of the health care programs of the provincial government around their respective barangays.
Pineda said since there is no allotment for service vehicle of the volunteer health workers from the budget of the barangay, capitol funded the purchase of the pedicabs that does not need gasoline.
“Para hindi na ninyo problemahin pa ang panggasolina, inaprubahan na ng kapitolyo ang pagbili ng pedicab na magagamit ninyo sa inyong pag-ikot sa barangay,” she told the barangay health workers in second district during the Buntis Program here.
She also added that it is a healthy exercise to drive a tri-bike while disseminating the health care services of the provincial government for the indigent cabalens.
The pedicabs are expected to be distributed to the 505 barangays in the province this year.
Aside from this the Pineda administration together with the Department of Health Central Luzon initiated the monthly allowance of P500 for each health workers.
