Capitol Mobile Drug Store Ready to Serve

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government is set to reach the even the farthest and most depressed areas in the province to deliver affordable medicines to the people through its mobile drugstore.

The capitol mobile drugstore is a non-profit store managed by the provincial health office (PHO) that sold medicines at lower prices.

Gov. Lilia Pineda said the provincial government had talked to pharmaceutical companies to supply the needed medicine under a consignment contract similar to that of the district and provincial hospital.

“Affordable medicines are made available to the people even if they at home. They don’t need to go to hospital to buy,” the governor said.

She also directed the PHO to conduct survey on all the 505 barangays in the province to know what kind of medicines are usually needed by the residents and the common illnesses in the area.

The mobile drugstore will move around the province bringing medicines, and with health professionals on board- a nurse and medical technologist for simple laboratories such as blood pressure, uric and acid test and urinalysis.
