Capitol Launches Various Livelihood Opportunities

LUBAO – Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, through the initiative of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), launched various livelihood opportunities in barangay Santo Domingo of this town.

The projects, dubbed “Sampaguita Mabanglu”, “Basura Mo, Tulak Ko!”, and “Masustansyang Pamangan Para King Barangay (Techno Cart)”.

The barangay received 1,000 sampaguita plants, 2 bote-bakal push carts, and a techno cart.

Newly installed Regional Director Raymundo Agravante of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) bared the agency’s three-pronged agenda for livelihood creation namely, environment-friendly livelihood projects, livelihood restoration, and livelihood enhancement.

Agravante stated that the beneficiaries can expect more grants, provided that the funds and equipment given by the agency will be used properly to uplift the living conditions of the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Governor Pineda lauded the unending support of the provincial board for the various projects that benefit the province.

According to the governor, projects like these will not be realized without the help of the vice governor and the board members. “Salamat po sa ating Sangguniang Panlalawigan dahil sila ang nag-aapruba ng budget para sa mga proyekto natin sa probinsya.”, Pineda shared.

The governor also thanked Director Agravante for agency’s continuous support.

Beneficiaries of the program expressed their gratitude to the governor for the opportunity given to them and vowed to use the given resources wisely.

Merlyn Quiambao, a sampaguita vendor for over 15 years, was able to provide for her families’ needs and send her children to college through her sampaguita business.

Meanwhile, vegetable and meat vendor Anita Santos promised Pineda that she will work harder and use the techno cart and P5,000 fund given to her wisely. (ANGELIQUE DC. TUAZON, PIO Pampanga)
