CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – In a strategic move to preserve Pampanga’s culinary legacy, the Provincial Government headed by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda opened the first-ever Manyaman Festival Food Expo on Monday, December 4.
The expo showcased iconic dishes and culinary treasures from the 22 towns and cities of Pampanga at SM City Pampanga Event Center. From the renowned chicharon of Guagua to Magalang’s Pastillas, Bacolor’s Tamales, Sta. Rita’s Patcu, and others.
Local products also took the spotlight, featuring Floridablanca’s famous aluminum kitchenware known as “pinukpok” , Porac’s weaved baskets, and Minalin’s egg industry.
Manyaman Festival Committee Chair and Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab highlighted the event’s purpose, introducing Pampanga’s distinction as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines, transcending a delectable fusion of tradition, talent, and taste.
“We believe in the talent of Kapampangans. This is not only a source of pride in the Philippines but also a product that can be proudly showcased internationally,” she affirmed.
The festival also hosted Yuletide-themed booths from renowned Pampanga restaurants and vibrant cultural performances by Kapampangan artists.
Governor Delta also expressed optimism about the festival’s potential to boost tourism in the province.
Winners in various categories received trophies and cash prizes.
