CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government has intensified self-employment for Kapampangan through its training programs that is more focused on improving the capability of skilled workers and provision of loan assistance to empower the small entrepreneurs.
Gov. Lilia Pineda wants not only to help for the employment of the kabalen but to have their own sustainable livelihood activities to augment the income of the families.
She tapped the Provincial Manwpower Training Center (PMTC) in handling livelihood trainings for the skilled workers that will allow them for self employment.
Francis Maslog, head of the PMTC said they have trained tablet arm chair makers and bicycle with sidecar builders.
“Nakagrupo sila na gumagawa ng mga arm chair na pinamimigay ng kapitolyo sa mga schools. Nagkaroon na rin tayo ng link sa (DepEd) Department of Education na sila ang magrerepair at gagawa ng mga upuan nila,” Maslog stated.
He further said that Capitol will now purchase Nego Karts (Negosyo king Kariton) from the trained bicycle with sidecar builders.
When it comes to assistance, the Provincial Cooperative and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCEDO) is providing loan assistance to small entrepreneurs without interest and collateral through Negosyo king Panyulung Program.
This program targets women who want to help their spouse to improve their family income. They were loaned capital to start their own business such as sari-sari store, fruits stand and others.
Mamerto Gatus said they have more than 6000 beneficiaries under NPP with released loan of almost P46 million.
