CITY OF SAN FERNANDO–In commemoration with the “Aldo Ning Kooperatiba”, Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda on Monday, led the awarding of financial assistance provided by the Manila Water Foundation (MWF) to the seven cooperatives of the province during the flag ceremony at the Capitol grounds.

According to 2nd district Board member and Trade and Industry Committee chair Anthony Joseph Torres, “cooperatives deliver a huge contribution in the province despite their quiet business operation.”

“With this year’s theme “Isang-Daang Taong Pagpupugay Tulay Sa Maunlad na Buhay”, the volume of cooperative business in the province is now almost P4-billion, a huge factor in the economic growth of the province,” Torres said.

The board member also disclosed that there are currently 259 registered cooperatives in the whole province of Pampanga with 45,000 members of which, 1,300 of their employees are Kapampangans.

A former program of the provincial government under the management of the Provincial Cooperative and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCEDO) called “Kayantabe Ning Panyulung” program is now being sustained by the cooperative partners of the provincial government who are more equipped and capable of managing such program.
