Capitol gives P1.6 million to Kabalen elderlies

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- The provincial government headed by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led yesterday the distribution of checks worth P100,000 each to 16 elderlies from different districts of Pampanga who have reached the age of 95 and above held at the Benigno Hall Capitol Grounds.

Provincial Administrator Andres S. Pangilinan Jr. and Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Chief Lilibeth Baybayan assisted the governor in the distribution.

In a short speech, Baybayan said to the families of the elderlies that this program is the continuous support of the governor to the them so they may look after their parents that are now in their old age.

“There are some who are only 60 years old but are already bedridden, that is because of poverty. Their families cannot look after their needs because they lack support. So we must cherish and love our elderlies so they can reach this age (95 and above) and to give back the love they gave us.” Baybayan added.

Joined by their families, the elderlies who received checks were: Encarnacio Tiglao, of barangay Poblacion, Mabalacat; Purificacion David; Sapang Biabas Mabalacat; Ester Tanjuakio, Sto Cristo, Guagua; Zosimo Valencia, San Matias, Sta. Rita; Rosalina Nacpil, San Antonio, Bacolor; Bienvenido Sapnu, Calibutbut Bacolor; Cayetana Tolentino, Dolores, Bacolor; Hilario Singian Sr., San Isidro, City of San Fernando, Bernardo Dizon, San Jose, Sta. Ana; Maria Rosita Gulapa, San Juan, Sta. Ana; Eulalia Pasion, San Nicolas, Sta. Ana; Demeteria Garcia, Virginia Capanas, Calantipe, Apalit; Catalina Marin, Tabuyuc, Apalit; Herinigildo Sunga, Sta. Maria, Macabebe and Rosenda Duenas of San Nicolas, Minalin.

The other five recipients who did not appear personally due to health reasons were Belen Delfin, Cangatba, Porac; Consolascion Yalung, Cabetican, Bacolor; Guillermo Nunag, San Isidro, City of San Fernando, Victoria Galang, San Nicolas, Sta. Ana and Milagros Uyan of San Juan Apalit.

The awarding of the elderlies is with accordance to the Senior Citizen Code of the Province of Pampanga the ordinance that provides any natural borne senior citizens who are 95 years old or above and are still alive shall be granted P100,000 cash which was implemented and took effect last year.
