CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — In a bid to bring healthcare services closer to people, the provincial government held another medical mission for 1,058 needy Kapampangans at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC) on Wednesday, June 15.

According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the medical mission aims to provide free healthcare services to people, especially to those with various health conditions, such as cataract, pterygium, reproductive health problems, hypertension, diabetes, kidney complications, gallstones, hemorrhoids, cysts, mass, goiter, and those who are in need of surgeries.

Govenor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the activity with some medical specialists.

Niña Carla Cordero, a mother of a 4-year-old kid with hernia, could not hold her tears as she expressed her thanks to the Pineda administration. According to Cordero, her son–Jacob–was diagnosed with hernia at the age of 2. Jacob suffered from his condition for two years since his parents could not afford medical operations.

On June 9, with the help of Governor Delta and Vice Governor Nanay, Jacob successfully underwent hernia surgery without any expenses.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) was also present during the medical mission, assisting patients with registration and reactivation of their membership status.
