Capitol, DSWD assist 1,113 ‘mentally challenged’ patients

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga- Some 1,113 patients who are ‘mentally challenged’ received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the provincial government.

Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally visited the patients along with members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and officials from DSWD in a distribution held at the Bren Z Guiao Convention Center on Tuesday, March 05.

Vice Governor Nanay extended her appreciation to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian for the support given to the Kapampangans.

She revealed that the provincial government is actively seeking ways to secure additional funds to address the needs of these beneficiaries.

“Linakad na pung Gov ini king DSWD. Makasustentu na kayung panulu atlung bulan. Tuluy-tuluy. Ika mi pung Gov Delta patuluy kami pung manyad kareng opisyales at national government agencies bang kanita asopan da kayu ,” she said.

Each beneficiary received financial assistance amounting to P5,000 from DSWD. Additionally, the provincial government provided free consultations, medicines, and food packs to all recipients.
