CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The provincial government’s Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) reached out to coastal students in the barangays of Lubao and Sasmuan.
A total of 202 students received this aid in a ceremony held at the Lubao Bamboo Eco Park on Wednesday, July 19.
Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, accompanied by 2nd District Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, and Sajid Khan Eusoof, presided over the distribution of assistance to the students who arrived at the venue in boats.
Each student received a food pack and a check worth P4,000, showcasing the government’s commitment to supporting their education.
Governor Pineda emphasized that these beneficiaries are separate from the province’s regular 14,000 scholars, whose funds are approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan annually.
He affirmed, “Hangga’t magaral kayu, edakayu bili hanggang mayari kayu.”
Committee Chairperson on Education and 2nd District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab highlighted the importance of family planning in empowering and guiding students toward their aspirations.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the governor for the educational assistance and for arranging Landbank personnel to facilitate the encashment of their financial aid.
Next week, another group of student beneficiaries from the coastal barangays of Macabebe and Masantol is set to receive the same assistance. This continuous effort to extend aid to students residing in coastal areas demonstrates the government’s determination to bridge educational disparities and create equal opportunities for all.
Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, Sasmuan Mayor Katalina Cabrera, Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit and Special Assistant to Governor Angelina Blanco also graced the event to show support for the program.
