Capitol distributes 80 goats in Sta. Rita for livelihood

STA. RITA, Pampanga – The provincial government through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) distributed some 80 domesticated goats to the 16 members of the Diladila Goat Producers Association in this town.
Governor Lilia G. Pineda was joined by Mayor Yolanda Pineda, Village Chief Ferdinand Salalila, and Municipal Agriculturist Lutgarda Valencia who expressed their gratitude over the launched livelihood program in their area.
“We are honored to be chosen as the first site for this project. We vow to develop this livelihood to help more Kapampangans here in Sta. Rita and serve as an example to other municipalities,” stated Mayor Pineda.
According to Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Augusto Baluyut Jr., the town was selected because of the ideal living conditions here.
“We want to make sure that our investments are secured. Since Diladila is a flood-free area, it is the model pilot location for our new livelihood program,” Baluyut explained.
Baluyut also added, goat raisers here are already knowledgeable in raising domestic animals thus, the need for training of beneficiaries is lessened.
In response, Avelino Sotto and Jay Manalo, president and vice president of the organization respectively, also thanked the governor for the livelihood program brought here.
