CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Provincial Government through its Provincial Veterinarian Office (PVO) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) distributed 30 livestocks to typhoon Lando victims.
According to Dr. Augusto S. Baluyut, Provincial Veterinarian, the recipients were mostly victims of the recent typhoon Lando within the province.
“The recipients are thankful for the efforts of Governor Lilia Pineda and for recognizing their needs,” Baluyut said.
The distribution of livestocks is part of the rehabilitation program of DA for victims of typhoon Lando.
The affected farmer-beneficiaries are planning to multiply the livestocks and distribute them further to their fellow farmers.
They would also consult the Provincial Veterinarian Office on how to properly manage their newly-acquired livelihood.
Third District Board Member Attorney Ananias “Jun” Canlas, Jr., chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Agrarian Reform said he was happy because the provincial government once again had the chance to uplift the status of farmers.
“Because of the partnership of the Capitol and DA, the farmers are able to get back to their feet and start again as part of the overall agriculture development program in the province,” he added.
He also said that this will add better opportunities for the farmers in terms of livelihood and other assistance to add to their profit.
“This also shows how extensive is the leadership of Governor Lilia Pineda, with the help of Vice Governor Dennis Pineda and the provincial board in helping those in need, especially our farmers,” he said.
