Capitol continues relief operations; 20,058 packs distributed

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda together with Vice Gov. Dennis Delta Pineda continue its relief operations distributing 20,058 relief packs in the towns and cities affected by flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon rains (habagat).

The mother-and-son tandem is also accompanied by Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the second districts and board members led by Olga Frances David Dizon, president of the Provincial Councilors League (PCL).

According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Chief Elizabeth Baybayan, the Capitol already distributed relief packs to 2,636 families in Lubao; 8,856 in Guagua; 2,183 in Bacolor ; 1,200 in Nabuclod, Floridablanca; and 5,183 in the City of San Fernando.

Baybayan said a total of 76,924 families or 345,824 individuals were affected by the inclement weather in the province.

As of this writing, Gov. Pineda along with Vice-Gov. Pineda, board members and other local officials are still conducting relief operations in the other affected municipalities.

Based on the report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), some 190 out of the 505 villages in 1 city and 16 municipalities were affected by floodwaters.
