CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The provincial government under the leadership of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda had allocated a total of P65,396,823.50 educational assistance to 4,060 scholars from school year 2011 to 2015.
Part of this, Governor Pineda personally handed out financial assistance to 2,020 scholars under the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, yesterday.
Some 327 scholars out of the 4,060 are expected to graduate next year.
Governor Pineda had expressed hope that these graduates would become great leaders in the future.
Governor Pineda on the other hand, cautioned the scholars to stay away from prohibited drugs and finish school in order to have a bright future.
“I appeal to everyone of you students to please study and finish your education. Life is tough when you don’t have education. To the parents, please look after your children, be involved and monitor their activities“ Pineda told students and parents during the program.
“Also, may I ask for everyone’s participation and cooperation if you know somebody who uses drugs please tell the authorities so that we can save users and send them to rehab” she added.
Also seen at the event were Board members, Cherry Manalo and Crisostomo Garbo(1st district), Arthur Salalila and Anthony Joseph Torres (2nd district), Rosve Henson (3rd district), Ricardo Yabut and Nestor Tolentino (4th district), Chief-of Staff Fritzie David-Dizon and other heads of Capitol.
