CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— In a bid to intensify enforcement to cease the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province, Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda during the Peace and Order Council meeting, identified the chiefs of police and the provincial director, their noticeable accomplishments.
Doubling the council’s efforts to curb illegal drugs, Chairman of the Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety and 3rd District Board Member Rosve Henson had said, “the success of the COP’s is unlikely without the support of the municipal mayors.”
In connection with the incessant campaign against illegal drugs, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan have passed and approved Resolution No. 1 -2015 during the Peace and Order Council meeting in March 17, a program of the local peace and order fund for the province in the amount of P30-M.
Out of the amount approved, P15-M was allocated for the purchase of guns and ammunitions such as semi-automatic rifles, eighty three (83) units of 9-mm caliber pistols and 2 units sniper rifles.
Subsequently, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan also approved a resolution requesting the office of the governor to facilitate the said purchase.
Furthermore, the said allocation is confined with conditions specified by the members of the board and that the council made it clear that the firearms are property of the province and for exclusive use of the Pampanga PNP and can never be transferred to any other LGU outside the province.
