Capitol Allots 37.6 M for Construction of Classrooms

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government allocated P37, 603, 149 for the construction, repair and improvement of additional school buildings for this year to address the classrooms shortage in public elementary and high schools in the province.

Provincial Assistant Engr. Noli Pangan disclosed that a total of 63 classrooms and three multi-purpose covered courts will be constructed for the calendar year 2014, benefitting 17 elementary and high schools.

Based on record of the provincial engineering office, four schools in second district will have their new and improved classrooms amounting to P7, 747, 811; five schools in third district with an allocated budget of P11, 649, 978 and; five schools in fourth district with a total of P12, 718, 195.

Further, three public high schools in second district will going to have their new multi-purpose covered courts with P5, 487, 163 budget.

Pangan said yearly the provincial government allocates budget for the infrastructure projects under education program of Gov. Lilia Pineda.

“The provincial government is constructing classrooms because Gov. Pineda is aware that the Department of Education (DepEd) cannot fully address the classrooms shortage in the province,” said Pangan.

He also assured that the newly constructed, improved and repaired classrooms are of high standard and complete with essential amenities.

“The classrooms are elevated for flood-prone areas. They are also designed to be conducive for learning and well-ventilated. Each classroom has its own comfort room,”Pangan explained.
