Candaba Mayor-Elect Declares Support to Pineda Administration

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Candaba Mayor-elect Rene Maglanque together with vice-mayor-elect Normita “Babes” Evangelista declared full support to Gov. Lilia Pineda’s administration during their courtesy call yesterday.

Maglanque and Evangelista who joined the flag raising ceremonies of the provincial government are the first elected officials who formally visited the governor for a courtesy call. The two Candaba officials ran as independent candidates.

The mayor-elect said their visit is a manifestation of their support to the provincial government and the start of reconciliation for whatever political issues that the election brought to the people and other candidates.

“We are here to show our governor that as elected officials of Candaba, we support her administration. We are also asking guidance from the Capitol in serving the Candabeños,” Maglanque said.

Maglanque who also served as former board member of the 4th district and Assistant Secretary of Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) added that he wants to present to the governor their plans for development of Candaba and of course, he admitted, he needs the  assistance from the Capitol.

“Gov. Pineda’s priority is health, we would like to coordinate our health programs with that of the provincial government after we formally take oath,” he said.

Gov. Pineda disclosed that she is planning to convene all elected officials in the province before the oath taking on June 30 to talk about their plans for their respective areas and how the provincial government can help them.

“After the election every elected officials should work together. This is no longer politics. This is all about public service that we committed to the people,” Pineda said.
