CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Third District Board Member Rosve Henson appealed for the support of local legislators in the revision of the Real Property Tax Code of the province to improve revenue collection that will minimize dependence on Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
Henson who chairs the Committee on Ways and Means of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan said they are looking for some ways to increase the local income of the province and one of these is the revision plan.
Aside from IRA, the capitol budget comes from quarry collection and real property taxes (RPT).
In a meeting with the Pampanga Councilors’ League (PCL), Henson disclosed that it was in 1995 or 16 years ago when the last revision was enacted.
He noted that Section 200 of the Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 mandates them to undertake a general revision of real property assessment every three years.
“It is our duty to make necessary legislative measures to tax properties that suit the ne4eds of the time,” he said
The board member also asked them to patronize Integrated Taxation System (I-Tax) – the computerization of RPTs to identify delinquent properties and collections.
