Gov to employees ‘be a hero’
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – As the provincial government commemorated Monday the 115thanniversary of Independence Day, Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda urged the provincial government elected officials and employees to emulate the example shown by the national and Kapampangan local heroes and become heroes themselves through honest and dedicated service for the benefit of the Kapampangans and the province.
The statement was made by Governor Pineda during the flag raising ceremonies attended by Board Members Ricardo Yabut, Monina Monz Laus and hundreds of Capitol employees.
The governor also stressed in her message the importance of commemorating the sacrifices and patriotism of the country’s heroes to achieve national sovereignty. She said this generation owes to the national heroes and the nation the freedom they enjoy right now.
“Ginugunita natin sa araw na ito ang naging kabuluhan ng buhay ng atin mga bayani. Binubuhay natin ang kanilang sakripsiyo at pagmamalasakit sa bayan upang maging modelo sa ating pagseserbisyo. Huwag nating sayangin ang kanilang sakripsiyo,” Pineda stated.
Pineda told the employees that as civil servants they are among the unsung heroes of this generation. She said they are working for the government; they are serving the people and they assisted elected officials.
“Tulad ng mga ating mga bayani paglingkuran natin ng buong puso at may pagmamalasakit ang taong bayan. Hanggang nabubuhay gumawa tayo ng mabubuting bagay na aalalahanin ng susunod na salinlahi ng mga taong ating napagserbisyuhan,” she told them.
As part of the celebration, the Mabalacat City performers presented a play about the bravery and sacrifices of the national heroes to achieve freedom.
The said presentation won the championship for the province in the Dula Lansangan during the celebration of the First Republica in Malolos Bulacan.
A wreath laying ceremony and flying of balloons also marked the commemoration of the country’s Independence Day.
