CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – At least 43 children diagnosed with cancer from Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital (JBLRMH) received assistance from the provincial government amounting to P139, 543.32.
Elizabeth E. Baybayan, the provincial social welfare development officer (PSWDO) led the occasion together with Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Angelina Blanco held at Benigno Aquino Hall, Capitol Compound here.
The cancer patients came from the different towns and cities of the province and were accompanied by their parents who were thankful for the assistance given by the provincial government.
Blanco and Baybayan represented Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda in handing over the assistance of P1,000 and food packs containing 10 kg of rice, 8 sardines, 8 corned beef, 6 soy sauce, 1 can of milk (0-10 years old), 2 milk packs (10-years old and above) and 1 can of soda crackers. An additional cash amounting P1, 000 was also given which came from the governor herself.
According to Baybayan, the governor will continue to help the children and provide for their needs especially the medication for their immediate healing.
She added that whenever the need arises for their hospitalization, they should immediately go to the hospital for immediate attention.
“Continuous support from the hospital will be given by the provincial government. Rest assured that these will be given free,” she said.
She also disclosed that the children-patients will receive cash and food packs on a quarterly basis in aid for their healing.
