Lubao, Pampanga – Some 267 residents here had finished their livelihood and skills training program under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) supervised by the Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC) and the municipal government.
The graduation, held the other day was led by Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda who encouraged the trainees to exert more efforts in uplifting the lives of their families using the skills and knowledge they gained from the training.
As part of the livelihood and skills training program, a 20-day free training program was conducted benefiting 160 persons in Cosmetology, 44 in Wellness Massage or Hilot, 32 in Motorcyle/ Small Engine Servicing and 31 in PC Operation and Basic PC Trouble Shooting from Brgy. San Miguel, Sto. Domingo and San Roque Dau 1st and San Roque Dau 2nd.
Gov. Pineda in her message to the graduates said that now that they have the skills, they should be determined and resourceful enough to utilize it for their own good.
“Pagkatapos ng training nasa inyong mga kamay kung paano niyo gagamitin ito ng maayos upang makakuha ng maraming costumer. Malaki ang kikitain ninyo dito basta maging masipag lang kayo”, she told the graduates.
The governor stressed that this program gives opportunity to all Capampangans especially to those who did not finish their studies.
“Ngayon kahit hindi sila nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral mayroon na silang diplomang magpapatunay na mayroon silang kakayahan. Higit ng madali para sa kanila ang makahanap ng trabaho”, she said.
Mayor Mylene Cayabyab of this town, said the municipality will help them find employment. She also gave them starter kit and toolbox for them to start their home service.
“Sa ngayon maaari ng gamitin ang mga starter kit and tools para maghome service pero hindi lang ito ang ibibigay ng munisipyo, magkakaroon din tayo ng jobs fair para maihanap sila ng employers. Cayabyab said.
Jennica Dunglao, a TESDA officer in Pampanga, commended the support given by the provincial government to enhance the skills education of their constituents.
“Very supportive ang mga nanunungkulan natin sa probinsiya at dito sa bayan ng Lubao pagdating sa skills education. Kaya marami ang nakapagtatapos dito ng technical at vocational courses,” Dunglao stated.
Odelia Sampang, one of the beneficiaries disclosed that for single mother like her, it is important to have a regular income to sustain the need of her child.
“Ngayong nakapagtapos ako ng Cosmetology, makakapaghanapbuhay na ako para sa pangangailangan ng baby ko, hindi ko na kailangang umaasa sa mga magulang ko”, she said.
During the ceremony, Gov. Pineda encourage the graduates to organize their group into an association, so the provincial government and other institutions can provide them funds for the improvement of their livelihood. (Jenna Lumbang, PIO Pampanga)
