Mabalacat City – Some 2,025 poor families in the city lauded yesterday Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda for the “Point of Service” program of the provincial government.

The Point of Service is part of the governor’s “Alaga Ka Para sa Maayos na Buhay” program in partnership with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), which aims to provide financial risk protection and medical assistance free of charge to every kapampangan, especially the marginalized sector.

Newly proclaimed City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo together with PCL President Frances Olga “Fritzie” David-Dizon, 1st District Board Members Cherry Manalo and Benjamin Jocson joined the governor in the distribution of Philhealth Member Data Records (MDR) held separately at Barangay Madadap Covered Court and Barangay Dolores Covered Court, here.

Governor Pineda explained to the crowd the benefits of medical assistance available to all Phil Health members and their family members who are in need of medication.

She also stressed that the Duterte Administration is keen to provide free medical assistance to financially incapable patients who are seeking consultations, examinations, and medications or those confined in government hospitals.

The governor said that President Duterte had allotted P105–million for the province’s medical assistance program alone.

Moreover, Pineda appealed to Magalang Chief of Hospital Dr. Dan Naguit and Mabalacat Chief of Hospital Benjamin Arboleda to encourage its medical personnel to be polite especially in assisting poor patients who are seeking help.

She also took the opportunity to reiterate her call to serve the general public especially the underprivileged with love and respect.

“Bawal ang mga supladang medical staff. Higit sa lahat bawal ang namamatay sa ospital,” she stressed.

The beneficiaries were identified through the national household targeting system for poverty reduction by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) led by Elizabeth Baybayan.
