ROSARIO, Batangas – Some 124 Taal eruption affected residents here benefited from the free medical check-up and medicines from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) under the Healthcare Delta Program, on Wednesday.
According to Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, PHO head, a total of 9 doctors and 10 nurses from the provincial and district hospitals in Pampanga with Health Emergency Management Staff (HEMS) team were deployed to give assistance in the said medical mission held in Barangay Quilib, this town.
“Yung mga district hospitals na may HEMS team na sumama sa atin ay ang Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital at Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital – Annex in Bacolor,” Dr. Jaochico said.
He added that there were also doctors from Domingo B. Flores District Hospital in Macabebe, Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz Memorial Hospital in Arayat, and Ricardo Rodriguez Memorial Hospital – Main in the City of San Fernando.
Meanwhile, Brgy. Captain Edwin Manguiat expressed his gratitude to Governor Delta, saying that he will forever remember the kindness that the governor showed not only to his constituents but to all Batangueños.
“Nakakagalak ng puso yung taos pusong pagtulong ni Governor Dennis Pineda ng Pampanga sa aming nasalanta gaya nitong medical mission na ito. Kaya malaki ang pasasakamat namin sa kanya at hindi namin ito makakalimutan,” Manguiat said.
After the medical mission, the beneficiaries were given food packs that contain 5 kilos of rice, 5 cans of sardines, and 5 cans of corned beef. They also received some packs of vegetables courtesy of Bicutan SAF from Manila.
Aside from the medical mission, Governor Delta also led the distribution of food packs, dry goods, face masks, water containers, and donated clothes to the municipalities of Talisay, Agoncillo, and Lian.
This is the second time that the Pampanga team personally went to Batangas to provide medical assistance, relief goods, and clothing donations to different areas in Batangas that were heavily affected by the recent Taal Volcano eruption.
