CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—A total of P1,767,000,000 health services and health infra projects, equipments and facilities were completed by the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia G. Pineda from 2012 to 2014, it was learned.
Among the improved and renovated district hospitals which totaled P219,727,151.94 include, San Luis District Hospital- P17,996,280; Mayor Domingo B. Flores District Hospital- P17,693,676.78; Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital- P18,995,184; Emigdio Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital- P13,614,258; Romana Pangan District Hospital- P12-M; Dr. Andres Luciano Memorial Hospital- P43,996,998; Mabalacat District Hospital- P11,700,000; Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital- P25,229,177 and Escolastica Romero District Hospital- P35-M.
With this development, new birthing stations were also built in the different municipalities amounting to P18,655,322 to counter the escalating number of pregnant women in the province.
About 8,246 patients in different district hospitals have received financial assistance from the provincial government which totaled P26,803,943.15.
Some 27,117 patients from provincial and private hospitals also received financial aid amounting to P122,342,895.63.
The provincial government has shelled out P380,298,191.24 for the 71,435 patients for their 2d, echo, CT Scan, Ultrasound, Dialysis, Chemotherapy, ECG, endoscopy, medicines, surgery operations, laboratory, x-ray and hospital bills and other financial assistance to the less fortunate, here.
Different programs about public health were also implemented with the help and cooperation of the rural health units in every municipality and city.
These include Buntis Congress, where proper health care education and the importance of breastfeeding were discussed to evade complication in giving birth.
Meanwhile, through the Provincial Voluntary Blood Services and Advocacy Program, Provincial Blood Council was recreated and had instituted seven (7) Blood Donation Activity where 1,442 bags of blood were collected.
This and more, with the support of the provincial government to its health partners headed by the Department of Health, the National Target of 91% in Tuberculosis Treatment success Rate in 2014 was achieved surpassing the National Target of 90% in TB Case Detection Rate.
Relatively, to combat certain diseases, the provincial government together with the DOH, facilitated orientation seminar on Infectious Diseases like TB, HIV, Dengue, Mers-Cov and Ebola to all Barangay Chiefs, BHWs, including doctors, nurses, medtechs in all district hospital and rural health units.
The Chief Executive of the province expressed her gratitude to all Rural Health Workers, 11 district hospitals, municipal doctors, barangay health workers, provincial public health office, DOH and JBL for their support and health programs.
“I am sincerely grateful to all of you, our partners, that without your support and dedication to your duties none of these would have been possible. Let’s continue helping our people most especially our less fortunate ones”, the governor said.
This year, Phil-health has provided P10,480,800 to 4,367 beneficiaries,totaling about P85,397,700 to 41,745 beneficiaries of Phil-health’s POC and other sponsored programs.
