Lubao bags best practice on solid waste management

City of San Fernando ~ The provincial government conferred yesterday the Best Practice Award on Ecological Solid Waste Management to the municipal government of Lubao during the kick-off celebration of the 445th Aldo Ning Kapampangan.

Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab personally received the plaque of recognition from Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda witnessed by Provincial DILG Director Myrvi Fabia.
As incentives for the award, Governor Pineda also gave a brand new service truck to the municipal officials of Lubao led by Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab.
The governor said it is intended for the collection, transfer and transport of garbage in every barangay to the municipal Material Recovery Facility
According to Provincial Government Enviroment and Natural Resources Officer (PG-ENRO) Arthur Punsalan said Lubao has  set an exemplary efforts on solid waste reduction, collection and sanitary disposal at the municipal MRF, now a model in the province. 
Lubao is also one of the first local government units (LGUs) in Pampanga out of the 21 municipalities that strictly complied with the Republic Act of 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
The governor lauded the LGU officials in Lubao for prioritizing program that promotes environmental protection such as proper waste management.
