CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Acting Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda presented to Provincial Development Council (PDC) the P421,885,663.80 development fund for the priority development projects of the province in 2017.

This came during the PDC reorganizational meeting held at the provincial government’s executive house attended by Second District Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Provincial Administrator Attorney Andres Pangilinan, Jr., city and municipal mayors of Pampanga, and representatives of various civil society groups.

The acting governor said of the said funds, some P340-million would be utilized for the infrastructure projects of the province.

“The P20-million will go to the construction, rehabilitation of artesian wells and water system,” he said.

He said another P20-million will be spent for the agriculture modernization such as construction of farm to market roads, irrigation facilities, purchase of desilting equipment for irrigation canals, thresher and mechanical dryer, hand tractors and other post harvest facilities.

The remaining funds will be used for the purchase and development of land for land banking and the relocation of informal settlers and victims of calamities.

“That is why we need the help of the local chief executives to specify their development projects and present them to the PDC,” acting governor said.

During the PDC meeting yesterday, some 20 percent of the funds were distributed to the municipal and city mayors for their priority development projects in their respective towns and cities.

The PDC also acknowledged the newly elected mayors, civil society groups, and representatives of congressmen as new members of the council.
