P26-M distributed to 266 elderlies in Pampanga

City of San Fernando— Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda announced that the provincial government has already distributed some P26-million for the incentives of 266 elderlies who are 95 years old including the centenarians who were given last year.

This was gleaned during the incentives’ distribution yesterday amounting to P3.8 M to 38 elderlies who came from the different towns of the province.

The governor was assisted by Second District Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo while the elderlies were accompanied by their relatives.

With the Centenarian Act or RA 10868 signed by President Aquino specifying that only centenarian are the only and right person to receive P100,000 incentives, the governor said the provincial ordinance giving P100,000 incentives to 95 years will be stopped.

Meaning, the governor said the distribution will be the last for the province since the centenarian law is now effective.

Among Norberto Coronel, 95- year-old retired priest from San Nicolas 2nd, Betis, Guagua, Pampanga who stayed in New York USA for 17 years and worked as social worker for prisoners, lauded governor Pineda for her wonderful program for the elderlies in Pampanga.
