CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Can I be your PD?”
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa asked in jest Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda during the Police Regional Office-3’s celebration of the 115th Police Service Anniversary with a theme, “Hamon ng Pagbabago, Pinag-ibayong Serbisyo” at Camp Olivas here.
The PNP director general also confessed that he was jealous of the current and past PD’s because of the overwhelming support the governor has given to the said office in support of their operations.
Governor Nanay and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda together with other government officials, non-government organizations, and media outfits were given plaques of recognition by the Regional Human Rights Affairs Office 3 with regards to their unwavering efforts to eliminate and eradicate drug menace in the province.
In his speech, General Bato asked the police here in the region to be good examples throughout the country and to carry out the duty of the PNP “to serve and protect.”
He also commended PRO-3’s efforts to eradicate illegal drugs and corruption in their units.
“I am happy that you are enthusiastic in implementing the Oplan Double Barrel of the PNP versus illegal drugs. I thank you all for scouring in every villages and places in the region,” he said.
Also awarded that day were Police Chief Inspector Michael B. Masangkay for being the Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer, and Police Superintendent Jean S. Fajardo of City of San Fernando Police Office who received the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting and an additional gift of Glock 30 calibre .45 gun from General Bato himself. “Use that to defend yourself and not to be wounded again in operations,” he added.
Macabebe Mayor Annette F. Balgan also received a plaque from Regional Human Rights Affairs Office 3 together with the Soroptomist International of Guagua, Pampanga and Christian Ministry Fellowship.
