MAGALANG, PAMPANGA – Governor Lilia Pineda on Wednesday morning was conferred Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa) by Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) upon the recommendation of the PSAU Academic Council.
The conferment is in accordance with the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 19, series of 2014.
PSAU gave to the governor the said doctorate degree because of her service to the public for over 27 years. The university recognized Governor Pineda’s efforts in revolutionizing the province’s public health system through the improvement of government facilities as well as the implementation of numerous programs and projects which benefitted the public, especially the poor and marginalized sector.
Also, the governor facilitated the renovation of 11 district and provincial hospitals and provision of the needed medical and diagnostic equipment including the consignment system for all medicines and medical supplies needed by patients, ensuring the availability of such at all times.
The university also saw Governor Pineda’s efforts in various infrastructure project like classrooms, barangay halls, government offices, multipurpose covered areas roads and bridges.
In her salutation speech, CHED Region 3 Director Dr. Caridad Oli Abuan praised all of Governor Pineda’s achievements and extolled to the youth of the province her integrity of character, honesty of purpose, fidelity to Christian principles, and genuine concern for the common welfare of the people.
Governor, now Doctor Lilia Pineda extended her gratitude to PSAU in conferring the degree to her. She assured that she will continue her unwavering service for the betterment of the province and to the welfare of the people of Pampanga.
