Gov distributes P9.2-M assistance to barangays

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government headed by Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda distributed P9,150,000 worth of financial assistance to 61 barangays.

 

During the awarding held at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center Gov. Pineda said the assistance is given to barangays with P1.5 million internal revenue allotment (IRA) and below.

 

The 61 recipients include 1 barangay from Arayat, 15 from Bacolor, 1 from Candaba, 2 from Floridablanca, 1 from Guagua, 3 from Lubao, 3 from Mabalacat City, 4 from Macabebe, 7 from Masantol, 5 from Mexico, 3 from Minalin, 9 from Porac, 2 from City of San Fernando, 1 from San Luis, 1 from Sta. Rita, and 3 from Sasmuan.

 

Each of them received a check worth P150,000 personally handed by the governor.

Gov Pineda said the financial aid is intended to help the barangays meet their operational expenses in discharging their duties to their constituents.

 

Ex-officio board member Atty. Gerome Tubig, president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Pampanga expressed gratitude to the governor for her relentless support to the development of the barangays.

 

Annually, the provincial government is allocating P300,000 worth of financial aid to barangays. The other half of the assistance will be given on June.

 

Also present during the distribution were former board member Fritzie David-Dizon, board member Cherry Manalo, Sto. Tomas Vice Mayor Mark Louie Arceo, Bacolor Vice Mayor Jun Canlas, capitol department heads and personnel from the Provincial Treasurers Office.
