Gov to enroll more NHTS-PR members

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda stated on Wednesday, during the “Aldo Ding BHW’s at Barangay Nutrition Scholars, that she would enroll more indigent families under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) in 2016.

Similarly, the Point of Care Program of the provincial government will continue and is already paid until 2016 to provide further healthcare that would benefit indigent Kapampangans.

“Tuluy-tuluy ya itang Point of Care, retang maka-enroll NHTS miragdagan la pa at detang pinoint of care tamu maka-philhealth na la anggang 2016”, the governor said.

This she said would not be possible without the support of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan headed by Vice-governor Dennis Pineda and the Board Members; Nestor Tolentino, Anthony Joseph Torres, Cherry Manalo, Ricardo Yabut, Salvador Dimson Jr., Arthur Salalila, Teddy Tumang, Atty. Gerome Tubig, Rosve Henson and Dinan Labung.

Conciding the “Aldo Ding BHW’s at BNS” was the launching of the Department of Health’s “Diabetes and Hypertensive Club”, joined by our national leaders like DILG Secretary and presidentiable Mar Roxas re-electionist  Senator and Chairman of the Committee on Health TG Guingona, Philhealth Commissioner and senatoriable Risa Hontiveros and DOH Secretary Janet Loreto Garin.

Each leader cited Governor Pineda for her incomparable leadership that preserves unity amongst people to attain progress.

“Ang kaginhawaan na ito ay ating pinaghirapan ng pamahalaang nasyonal at pamahalaang lokla sa pamumuno ni “Nanay Baby” na kung saan, bilang punong lalawigan bilang lider ng Pampanga, ang ating mga punong lungsod, punong bayan, lahat ay nagtutulungan. At sa inyong mga barangay health workers, sama-sama, tulung-tulong, nagsusumikap, nagsasakripisyo para maiahon sa kahirapan ang ating komunidad at ating mga pamilya” Roxas said.

While Hontiveros admire the work of the BHW’s and BNS for being the frontliners of health and nutrition information especially during disasters.

Hontiveros also complimented President Benigno Aquino III for his efforts in providing comprehensive healthcare to the 5.2 million poorest of the poor and lead them to a healthy life.

She likewise commended the “Sin Tax Law” that helps generate revenues to support the Philhealth premiums of the sponsored members including 4P’s, senior citizens and indigent members.

The launching of the Diabetes and Hypertensive Club will now allow to enroll more patients diagnosed with such illness to acquire maintenance medicines for free.

As what Secretary Garin said, they chose to launch the program in the province because they see how united the people are and actively participating in the universal healthcare program of the government.

“Let that unity continue for more progress. It is only with true unity and commitment that we will be able to deliver what’s best for all of us”, the secretary said.

BP apparatus were also distributed to all the attendees as well as maintenance medicines for diabetes and hypertension.

Region 3 Social Worker III Arthur Rodriguez provided updates on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) members/dependents such as sustainable livelihood provisions, skills training and seminars and supplemental feedings.

Rodriguez noted that there are now 50,555 active families within the province enrolled at 4P’s.

New policies and benefits to Philhealth members was also discussed by Henry Almanon, Branch Manager of the Philhealth Regional Office.

According to his report there are 2,417,248 members/dependents of Philhealth which is 92.64% and 193,809 indigents are enrolled under the NHTS-PR.

The attendees also received gifts from the provincial government.
