Gov to PPOC: Reform tactics to impede illegal drugs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The provincial government headed by Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda urged the members of the Peace and Order Council, the PDEA especially the mayors to modify their approach in curbing the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province.

“What I want is that in every problem presented, you have something to contribute, let’s reform our strategies to find worth in every work we do. What we need is precise solution,” the governor said during the PPOC meeting held at the Max’s restaurant, here on Wednesday.

Governor Lilia G. Pineda was joined by 3rd district Board member and Committee-Chair on peace and order Rosve Henson, PDEA Regional Director Gladys Rosales, DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Fabia, PNP Provincial Director S/Supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr., Col. David Diciano, members and representatives of the council, stakeholders and other guests.

The lady governor stressed out during the meeting, that the mayors are the front-liners therefore, the PPOC rely on them.

In relation, Sta. Rita mayor Yolanda M. Pineda cited an approach on how they deal with drug personalities which they implement in their municipality.

“Mayors, now that you are already doing something about it remember what RD said (referring to PNP-Reg. 3 director P/Supt. Lacadin) without your implementation and the support of the community the efforts of the police is futile, the governor said.

Governor Pineda also dared mayors to persuade as many drug personalities as they can to voluntarily submit themselves to the authorities.

She also urged them to present to the council what reform they have contributed for the sake of peace and order in their area of jurisdiction.
