Philhealth lauds Pampanga for high membership rate

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) lauded the provincial government of Pampanga headed by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda for recording high membership rate in the province.

In the radio program ‘Pampanga, Mabuhay Ka!’ over RW 95.1fm, Elizabeth Capuli, Philhealth region 3 senior insurance specialist said, 85% or 2,609,406 Kapampangans are now enrolled in PhilHealth.

487,605 of these are either sponsored by the national government under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) or sponsored by the provincial government.

The remaining 15% who are not enrolled in the insurance program can also avail PhilHealth benefits through the “point-of-care enrolment program” which targets non-members belonging to Class C-3 or D confined in government hospitals.

Capuli also recognized the efforts of the provincial government in accrediting all 11 district and provincial hospitals and improving their facilities and equipment.

From 2010 to June 30, 2015, the province’s district hospitals’ insurance claims from Philhealth reach P1,076,345,371.

Gov Pineda targets to enrol every Kapampangan in the health insurance by the end of her term in 2016.
