Governor Lilia G. Pineda assured residents of Candaba town of the provincial government’s support and commitment to boost the duck raising industry in the area.
This developed during the first community dialogue and outreach program of the governor’s administration which was recently conducted at Candaba’s municipal hall extension in barangay Salapungan.
The governor told the duck raisers that her administration will fully support Candaba’s duck raising industry as it will boost not only the town’s economy but the entire province of Pampanga as well.
In addition, she committed to provide the necessary financial augmentation for the construction of the feed mill which is urgently needed by the duck raisers.
At present, the town’s duck raisers produce an average yield of 200,000 eggs daily which are being marketed in Pateros, Rizal and in part of Metro Manila.
Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo welcomed the governor’s expressed support to the development of his municipality.
“Dati mahirap hanapin ang gobernador ng lalawigan, pero ngayon dumating siya sa ating bayan upang pakinggan ang mga karaingan at pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” Pelayo told his constituents from the 33 barangays of the municipality.
As early as six o’clock in the morning, Governor Pineda arrived at the venue along with Board Members Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Ric Yabut, Nestor Tolentino and Dein Henson, heads of Provincial Cooperative and Development Authority (PCEDO) Mamerto Gatus, Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Crispin Guintu, Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) Luningning Vergara and other concerned department heads and officials of the province.
Provincial Information Officer Joel Mapiles said that the one-day community dialogue cum outreach program aimed to bring the services of the Capitol directly to the far-flung barangays of the province.
After the event in barangay Salapungan, the program will be brought to other remote communities throughout the province and deliver much-needed services such as medical and dental, livelihood and employment opportunities, animal vaccination and agri-aquaculture among others.
Mapiles said that a total of 200 patients availed themselves of the free dental services while out of some 300 persons, several underwent minor cysts removal surgery while the more serious cases have been referred to the Amando Garcia Memorial Hospital in Angeles City for surgery.
He noted the full support of the various officials and department heads of the province as they dialogued with the barangay residents regarding their concerns and grievances.
He said that the governor “wants to really get to the bottom of the problems of her constituents and makes sure that they are able to directly avail themselves of the primary services of the government”.
Aside from boosting the duck raising industry, the governor also wants to intensify the production of corn, vegetables and palay in the said town.
More over, she also included in her list of commitments the expansion and construction of additional rooms for the town’s lying-in clinic.
At the same time, she enjoined the barangay officials to strictly monitor and ensure peace and order in their respective communities in the wake of recent carnapping, killing and kidnapping crime reports which involve some municipalities in the province.
“Be vigilant, be alert and do your duties well and coordinate closely with law enforcement authorities to ensure peaceful situation in our province,” the governor ordered. (Pampanga PIO)
