CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of 941 beneficiaries lauded the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda for the various trainings conducted through the Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC) last year.
According to Francis Maslog, officer-in-charge of PMTC, the province conducted 23 batches of various community-based and school-based trainings for the year 2014 alone.
The PMTC was able to conduct 15 batches of community-based trainings in beauty care, hairdressing, massage therapy, consumer electronics,computer hardware servicing, ref and air-conditioning servicing, dressmaking, automotive servicing, hyacinth-weaving, and heavy equipment operation, benefitting 440 individuals.
School-based trainings produced 324 graduates from various programs such as Basketball Referee Training, Security Services Training, Automotive Servicing, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Consumer Electronics, and Computer Hardware Servicing.
Aside from this, the PMTC also led a Competency Assessment for Driving NC-2 and NC-3 and an on-going hollow blocks production housed at the Provincial Engineer’s Office Compound in Barangay Sindalan of this city.
“Out of the 941 successful trainees for the past year, 668 of them are now self-employed or hired by the Capitol and other private entities,” Maslog proudly revealed.
“We are truly grateful for the opportunity and trust given to us by the provincial government. We were given not only the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in life, we were also provided with the avenue to practice our training,” said Marcpol Becayo, one of the carpentry graduates and currently employed by the Capitol in armchair production.
Meanwhile, Governor Pineda continues to request the assistance of municipal public employment officers (PESO) as well as municipal social welfare and development officers (MSWDO) in disseminating relevant information on the provincial government’s projects, particularly livelihood programs intended for underprivileged Kapampangans.
