Capitol allots P2-M aid to PSAU

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— A total of P2-million financial assistance has been provided by the provincial government to Pampanga State Agricultural University (formerly Pampanga Agricultural College), it was learned.

This, in relation to the CHED (Commission on Higher Education) requirements for the universityhood that a college institution must provide 10,000 volumes of new books.

Dr. Caridad Abuan, the newly assigned regional director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in Central Luzon once said in her speech that she’s impressed by the love of Gov. Pineda for education. “Her heart is for the improvement of education”.

For her part, Governor Pineda stressed that “education and health aspects are among her top-most priorities”. It is important to provide affordable college education because it reduces the number of those who skip colleges due to high cost of tuition in private schools”, she said.

Through the help provided by the provincial Capitol, PSAU was able to acquire some 366 books for the university’s flagship programs like Agriculture, Agroforestry, Geodetic engineering, Fishery, Veterinary Medicine and Hotel & Restaurant Management Courses.

Pineda also announced her plan to establish PASU campuses to make “more well-educated farmers” in Pampanga.

Meanwhile, the management of PSAU expressed their heartfelt gratitude, through a letter, to Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda for her unwavering support in promoting educational excellence in the said university.
