CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- Gov. Lilia Pineda mediates over land dispute and wants “status quo” during the meeting with farmers of Maimpis respectively at the Executive Office earlier today. In the said meeting, Gov. Pineda asserted that peace and order should always be the utmost priority however tough the situation between the two resisting parties. “Let’s make sure that the legality of the law will be properly implemented and that no individual should perish”, she said, pertaining to the shootout that happened recently involving the security guards during the demolition job where 4 people were reportedly hurt.
Gov. Pineda also offered financial help to the families who were hurt during the shootout and currently recuperating in the hospital.
PNP Provincial Director concurred with the governor that they’re job is to equally protect the rights of both parties. “We are not siding anybody here, we’re here to mediate and implement the law with maximum tolerance making sure of everyone’s safety” he said.
DILG Provincial Director Mervie Fabia also reiterated to the farmers that they are here to help to the best of their ability to retrieve their lands in accordance with the law and should be settled harmoniously and amicably.
Vice Governor Delta promised to help the farmers resolve their issues and arranged an appeal to the Office of Malacanang for any possible intervention to stop the demolition. Citing that the decision would still come from the Supreme Court, “We are willing to help you meet with our lawyers so that everything will be covered fair and square”, he said.
Also present were Vice Gov. Delta, Provincial Administrator Atty. Jun Pangilinan, DILG Provincial Director, Mervie Fabia, PNP Provincial Director Marlon Madrid, Police Senior Superintendent Bert Pitallano, 3rd District Board Members Dinan Labung and Rosve Henson, 4th District Board member Ric Yabut and Maimpis Barangay Captain, Romeo Dizon.
The land dispute rooted when a certain Atty. Mallari filed a petition of nullification against CLOA (Certificate of Land Ownership Award) awardees over the 130 hectares of agricultural land in Maimpis, City of San Fernando Pampanga.
