Capitol spends P342-M for infra-projects of seven towns

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The provincial government spent P342, 358,509 for its infrastructure projects for the  past years in the seven municipalities where the “Kapitolyo sa Barangay” program was initially held.
The “Kapitolyo Sa Barangay” has been conducted in the municipalities of Lubao, Sasmuan, San Simon, Minalin, Sto. Tomas, Sta Ana and Magalang this month aimed at bringing the social services more accessible to the Kapampangans and closer to the communities.
In a report obtained from Engineer Olimpio “Noli” Pangan, acting provincial assistant engineer and concurrent officer-in-charge of the General Services Office (GSO) of the province, it was disclosed that  the said municipalities are the direct beneficiaries of school buildings with a total amount of P115,511,785; Boys and Girls Comfort Rooms amounting to P5,455,655; School Covered Court, School Multi-purpose Covered Areas with stage and pathways with a total amount of 4,023,818; Roads, Canals and Bridges amounting to P64,636,869; Barangay Covered Courts, Multi-purpose Covered Areas- P41,602,657; Improvement, General Renovation of District Hospitals- P48,256,159 and Construction of Buildings and other structures amounting to P62,871,563.
Engr. Pangan disclosed that among the first seven municipalities , Lubao got the biggest budget of P109,679,624 for its infrastructure projects followed by Magalang with P109,679,624; Sto. Tomas, P62,555,531; Minalin, P28,389,237; Sasmuan, P19,474,345; San Simon, P13,755,189 and Sta. Ana with P13,101,877.
The lady governor also vowed to allocate budget and work for the proposed infrastructure projects submitted by the barangay officials from the said municipalities. This is aside from the P5-million given to each mayor every year for their priority development projects.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda revealed during the Kapitolyo sa Barangay that for this year, some P30-million will be allotted for the construction of Escolastica Romero District Hospital ERDH) in Lubao which will be used by the sick Cabalen particularly in Lubao and Sasmuan and some barangays in Guagua, and Floridablanca.
Recently, during the visit of the governor in the remote barangay of Turu in Magalang, she announced the concrete pavement of the one kilometer farm to market road in the said village amounting to P6-million. The other day, the governor also pledged for the construction of a community hospital in Sta. Ana town.
The governor has also announced the opening of a diagnostic center wherein the Cabalen could avail the services such as CT-Scan, ultrasound, two-d-echo, MRI, blood chemistry and other medical and executive check up with minimal cost.
The governor said she already ordered the barangay health workers (BHWs) to find those Cabalen suffering from cyst, “bukol”, mass, mayoma, polyps and other women related diseases so they could avail medical, surgical services for free.
