CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The “439th Aldo Ning Kapampangan” (Pampanga Day) celebration which kicks-off today, December 6 to 11 will be led by Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda, former President Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo with a theme, “ Lugud at Masabal: Puso ning Tune Kapampangan” ( Love and Care: Heart of a true Kapampangan).
The governor said the celebration which will start today will be marked with love, simplicity, genuine unity and camaraderie among public and private sectors who want the province to get access to progress.
“We have all the reason to rejoice and celebrate the founding anniversary of our beloved province as we have already set the tone to strive hard as one family and to make a difference towards a healthy, fully secured and employed population enjoying the fruits of economic development,” an optimistic governor said.
The governor said the celebration is an opportune time to recognize our distinguished cabalen who excelled in their field of profession that benefited the province and its people through the holding of Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (MOKA) night.
“I’m glad to say that this year, we have a complete list of beautiful candidates from the 20 municipalities and 2 cities of our province to vie for the title of Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2010 and I am hoping that the best will emerge as winner,” Pineda said.
The governor said that this is a gesture of genuine unity among our municipal and city officials who are deemed responsible in choosing beautiful, bright and talented young Kapampangan women in their respective cities and municipalities to vie for Mutya ning Kapampangan 2010.
Today, the celebration will start with a holy mass followed by the unveiling of activities, agro-industrial trade fair and art exhibit. At 10:00 o’clock in the morning, there will be simultaneous holding of medical dental mission at the Pampanga Provincial Jail catering the inmates and Job Training Fair at the capitol grounds.
At 3:00 in the afternoon, there will be a drum and lyre parade and exhibition followed by a Serenata Concert at the Park and at 6:00 pm, the provincial officials will start the ceremonial lighting of Christmas Decors and Fireworks Display.
Tomorrow (December 7), there will be a jobs fair and Kapampanga Cultural Show at the capitol grounds and furniture show at SM Pampanga.
Come December 8, Kuwentong Kapampangan at Aliwa pa will be held the provincial library while the Kapampangan Festival Show will be done at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
Then, at 3:00 pm, the governor will lead the launching of “Negosyo King Panyulung Program” that will provide loan assistance for livelihood projects for group of women who want to venture into small business.
This will be followed by the Pre-pageant and mall tour of the candidates for Mutya ning Kapampangan at SM Pampanga.
On December 9, day 4 of the celebration – there will be a “Ligligang Kalutung Kapampangan” or Cooking Contest in the morning and it will be followed by Rock Kapampangan Concert which will begin at 6:00 in the evening.
On December 10, “Asan at Gule Festival” or Fish and Vegetable Festival will be held and at 6:00 pm, the most awaited Coronation Night for Mutya Ning Kapampangan will be done at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
On the night of December 11, thirteen winners for the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (MOKA) in different categories will be recognized and be given due honor and courtesy.
