CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda lauded the other day the “successful” world community service projects jointly delivered by the Rotary Clubs of Ashikaga East Japan, Central Pampanga, Villa de Bacolor, and Western Pampanga, the University of the Assumption and the Mirai Ni Kibou Foundation in the province.
This developed as the governor welcomed the delegates of the different rotary clubs especially the Rotary Club of Ashikaga East (RCAE) Japan led by its president Shunsho Genda together with its 21 members and the Mirai Ni Kibou Foundation Inc. via a dinner sponsored by her office at Bale Capampangan in Dolores, this city.
The RCAE president promised that the humanity program between Pampanga and RCAE Japan will continue its service and program to the Capampangan particularly to the less fortunate which they did since 2000.
Genda turned over the 100,000 Yen donation of RC Ashikaga East to Elmer Guzman treasurer of the Mirai ni Kibou Foundation Inc. for the maintenance Fund of the Mirai Ni Kibou Children’s Library in Camp Olivas; and the 100,000 Yen donation to Director Lina Apostol of ther Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III for the livelihood project for the wards of the HAVEN in Magalang, Pampanga.
Apostol also accepted from Tamie Sakamaki the Yamaha P-95S Digital Stage Keyboard with Double Braced Stand and Pedal Sustain Unit worth Php 34,375.00 which will provide an alternative form of music therapy for the rehabilitation of wards of the HAVEN in Magalang.
Donation of medicines worth 4,500,856 Yen was also donated to the Mirai Ni Kibou Foundation Inc. for its hypertension-diabetes mellitus project in Pampanga.
Genda also led the giving of 200,000 Yen donation to Joseph Ang, president of the Mirai ni Kibou Foundation Inc. for the setting up of the mangrove seedling nursery bank that will spearhead the mangrove reforestation project along the coastline of Pampanga.
In addition, Ken Nakaya turned over 160,000 Yen to the Foundation for its medical missions in Pampanga turnover.
Students from Ashikodai High School and Kanuma Shoko High School donated 5 wheelchairs to the chosen patients of RC Central Pampanga.
“Thank you very much for welcoming us to this party. I am very glad to meet you again,” declared Yoshie Azami, who added that “the Japanese are always grateful to the people who support their activities in the Philippines”.
Pineda herself gave financial assistance to the recipients of wheelchairs while Board Member Ricardo Yabut carried one of the recipients to her wheelchair during the turnover.
The governor, representatives from all the organizations, the donors and the recipients all ended the party on a grateful note, hopeful that “we shall continue our good working relationships and help more of the less fortunate people in the province”.
On the other hand, Epifania “Fanny” Tobias, president of the Rotary Club of Central Pampanga saluted the show of love and respect of the Rotary Club of Ashikaga East Japan to all Capampangans and to the Filipino people and said he “hopes to continue the good working partnership with them”.
She also thanked the provincial government for the services it gives to the people of Pampanga.
