CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government is bent to push through its plan to build new municipal police stations (MPS) in all the municipalities and cities of the province amounting to P2.7 million up to P3-million each this year and in the years to come.
However, the provincial government is still waiting for the recommendation and resolution that would emanate from the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC).
Nonetheless, Engr. Gil Garcia of the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) disclosed that the municipal police stations of Arayat, Floridablanca, Magalang and Porac towns are now being constructed through this Capitol funded project.
Garcia, in-charge for the engineering design and blue print of the police stations said Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda wants a uniform design for the construction of police stations with complete facilities.
Based on the design, the proposed police station will be divided into evidence room, intelligence room, gender sensitive detention cells, radio room, women and children’s desk.
Garcia said the police station will have an elevation of 1.2 meter from the ground to make sure that it is flood-free in times of heavy rains and calamities.
Police Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde, provincial police director told Gov. Pineda that other towns are also in need of new police stations like the towns of Sto. Tomas and Guagua.
“During rainy season, the municipal police stations of Sto.Tomas and Guagua are flooded,” Albayalde said.
